9th grade reflection
I chose International High School because it was a very small school; students get more attention from teachers, so they can focus more. The school had more to offer than regular schools; we went on a lot of field trips, especially ones to college campuses. The school also had a lot of scholarship opportunities, some of the scholarships were out of state, and others took you to other countries. Having the opportunity to go to another country for free is a really exciting one. We had students go to China, Nicaragua, and Cambodia. It was also convenient to go to the school at International, I lived not far from it, and it is very easy for me to get there and come back home safely, it was just a short walk. Some of the classes I took at International were very interesting; the class I was very good at was English. The class itself was small; you can learn more when there is not so much talking around the classroom. The teacher also played a major role in my education, they made the class very easy to learn and they also made it very fun. The class I wasn’t successful in was Chinese; I also didn’t like the class. The class had a lot of kids in the first place; it was very hard to focus on the work. They Chinese language itself had so many characters, unlike English, Chinese language didn’t use the alphabets, they used strokes instead, this was why I probably had a low grade in the class. My most memorable moment in 9th grade was when we went to Kemah Board Walk in Galveston. The bus took forever to get there, but I think it was worth it. I bought the free rides ticket for 20 dollars, this meant that I could go on any ride for free , there was like 50 rides, most of them were very high up and went in all directions, I especially remembered riding the roller coaster, the whole time I rode, I thought it was going to fall apart. The whole structure was made out of wood. After that I went to the restaurant and ate a lot of food. Most of the food was very expensive, the highest price was 200 dollars, but it was a big meal. Looking back I thought it was a great freshmen year, I had some disappointments but all in all I thought it was a great 9th grade year.
